Natsuki's Attempts to dress like a Japanese

I think everyone can guess from my name, Natsuki that I really like Japanese stuffs~ I love Japanese fashion too! Cute, Exaggerating, Subtle... etc... There are many ways to describe Japanese fashion. I love buying their magazines and get their freebies! But the content is also very useful to keep up with the trends.

Sadly, there is no winter in Singapore! However, I would still hope dress like a Japanese girl in those winter issues of magazines! So here are my attempts:

Took the photo above but miss out one important element: THE BAG! (see below)

TADA! I love my bag!
Oppps, I think this are quite costly! One very important point about Japanese Fashion: LAYERING!

I wore a cute pink tanktop beneath my lacy top. Btw, have you guys gone to take a look at Forever New at Raffles City! It is a apparel store from AU catering sizes up to UK16! Their cloths are super sweet and dreamy! But they are quite expensive as compared to New Look. But fret not, THEY ARE HAVING SALES NOW. Please go down! I got my sweet tank top from there! I am able to bit UK12 as it is very stretchy!

The pretty oversized top is from a push cart at Raffles City B1... They clothes there are so pretty! But mostly prices around $35-$40... Abit expensive but ehir clothes are really unique. I think I can fit in some as they are oversized! I bought the lace top w/o trying. I feel that is very Japanese and pretty!

In this winter season, winter prints and leopard prints sweaters are a big thing! But of cos if we were to wear sweaters in SG we will most like die from the heat. So why not go for accessories with winter prints like my bag from john little sale! Sadly, the sale is over. But you guys might be able to find it at John Little itself! I really love the bag although it cost me $32 bucks... I hadn't seen designs like this around!

For my bottom, I simply wore a denim shorts. Japanese girls will most like wear boots and to keep their legs warm... Some wear legging and socks with their shorts. In Singapore to keep us cool, I think most of us will prefer just wearing shorts! Haha!

To complete the Japanese look, I tied my hair a low ponytail which Japanese girls also do!

My rating for this look: 3 Stars! Problem lies on the bottom... wear just shorts is just too Singaporean! haha.

NEXT!
Sorry about my bare foot! Hahaha... I think this outfit is pretty formal provided you wear shoes on! haha. I love that vest from Orangebear! Japanese to the max!
One of my ASOS loots is this...Crochet Dress! I love it, It gives a very sweet feeling! The Crochet fabric is pretty! I would let my hair down for this outfit, to look more demure? haha... although I know I'm not demure at all!

Rating: 3 & 1/2 star! I can go to some formal dinner with this, there might be just 20% of chance people might mistook me as a Japanese and it costs me only around $50 for a decent looking and pretty dress and vest!

LAST ONE!

If one fine layering clothes too warm in this weather, what about layering your accessories? Got that scarf from Forever NEW for just $12.95! 50% off! I like the scarf alot! I layered it wit a candy necklace I got for $10 from CLICK!, a pretty unpopular shop in Tamp1. It just caught my eye anyway~

I was wearing my ASOS Tee mentioned before previously! Love it~ Though slightly big...
To complete the cute look, I tied up my hair as a bun, which is very very common in Japan. I did not put a big ribbon on top (many Japanese does) because I am already loaded with accessories.

Also,

I tried layering RINGS.
The rose ring is from Gmarket, and the white ribbon one is made by me! Anyone interested in the ribbon ring? I am able to make blur, white and pink! Contact me if you wish to buy from me!

Rating for the last outfit: 2 & 1/2 stars. Totally look like a Japanese wannabe~ HAHA...

So, what is your comments for my trials! Are you gjuys into Japanese Fashion? ^^

All about Orangebear.

I believe most of you guys have heard of Orangebear! They have nice and plus-sized clothes! Orangebear's style is more towards the Asian style? A little bit of Taiwan, Japan and Korean! I have around 15-20 pieces of clothes from OB. They are comfy and versatile, I always wear them. I wear size 42-44 for OB.

But sometimes spree-ing just take too long and your ordered items often reach your home after you have forgotten all about it! Today, I'm gonna introduce two spree-ers whom I always spree with! I am also going to blog about my Orangebear's warehouse trip in Taiwan in June!

There is 2 blogshops where I spree for OB at. The first one is Instocks Available Here.

Exchange rate: NT = 0.05 SGD
Handling fee: $0.50 per item
Shipping is as such:
Scarfs: $1.50 per item
Heavy belts/Leggings/Caps/Berets/Wallets/Accessories: $2 per item
Tops: $2.50 per item
Dress/Bottom/Hoodies/Jackets/Jumpers: $3.50 per item
Bags/Jeans Kind: $4 per item
Shoes/Flats/Sandals: $4 per item
Boots/heels: $4.50 per item

To me, I think the fees are pretty reasonable and affordable. The spree-er is also very reliable! When spree-ing and sending in orders, you'll have to wait for the spree to close. And when you order stocks which are selling fast, you'll have to wait for restock which is the case for many sprees. Hence, the order I made 3 months ago, just arrived recently. Nevertheless, if you wanna save money on sprees, you can go for instocks-available-here, they have OB sprees regularly!

The next one is My Plus Factor. My Plus Factor works abit differently, the spree-er edits the photos of clothes herself and price them herself. The price will include shipping and handling already. You might find the price slighly higher than what you might get at Instocks-available. But My Plus Factor sends in your order almost immediately after receiving it, reducing the chance so the items to go out of stocks, or to wait for it to be restocked. The most important thing is the trust the spree-er gives me! I ordered two pieces of clothes of very limited stocks two weeks ago. But My Plus Factor was about to go for a vacation the next day. She was willing to help me enter my order together with her current batch of order without receiving my payment yet! Thus, I was able to receive my items 2 weeks later, which is today! *Happy!

So what would you choose? Get your new clothes faster or payless for them? I choose alternately!

Next, I will talk about Orangebear's warehouse at Taipei. I can't remember how did I get to the warehouse because I was brought there by a relative. But I do remember getting there by taking train from Xi Men Ding and alight at Kun Yang Station. After exiting from Kun Yang, You will spot OrangeBear's signage at a building opposite the road! Very easy to find! It is also very near Wu FenPu where you can get some very cheap Free Size Clothes which we might be able to fit in!

It is like a warehouse, alot of clothes! You can spot alot of plus-sized girls shopping there happily ^^ even the shop keepers are plus-sized. I find it a very friendly environment, and very interesting. After choosing the pieces you want, scan the barcode with the computers setted up there. You can then check if there is other colours and sizes availble. If yes, get it from the counter to try. The people serving are extremely friendly. I had a chat with them, when they asked me where I come from! I bought so much that I became VIP. VIP gets discount a freebies on the spot! But it expires after one year. Haha!

Here I was happily posing with my membership card!

Oh WAIT! I just found out that they've moved!
I believe it should be near the old one. I will go there again if I visit Taiwan again! I will need my relative again.

Anyone been there before? How was your experence? I had fun shopping!
And, where do you guys spree for OB? Any cheaper and more efficient spree-er?

River Island's Sale!

A
Here are my loots from River Island(Ion)! I am a sucker for big ear studs. Isn't them cute? And they are on huge sales! $5, $8, $10! Even though I can get cheaper ones from Bugis Village or Gmarket whatsoever~ I still love these to bits, couldn't resist buying them!

Loots from Topshop SALE

Topshop is having this big sale right now! Some clothes are even up to 70% off! I bought 4 pieces from the Tampines 1 and Marina Square branch!

This crimson red jumper gotta be my favourite out of all loots! I bought Uk 14, and it is stretchable and comfortable. My sister wanted to buy it too after seeing me wear it! And she did! She is able to fit UK14 too even though she is UK16. It costs $29 cos of the sale, I thought it was pretty worth it and the bow patterns at the side pockets are adorable. I bought mine at Tamp1, and I am pretty sure, they've run out of stocks for UK14 there. I just came back from Ion, and I remember seeing quite a number of them at the Topshop over there!

This is a ALL LACED tunic. It was sale-ing @ $39. You'll have to wear something inside as it is translucent. I think this piece is very versatile, I can wear it during formal events as long as I match something decent inside!

Bought this floral pants @$29. It is tagged uk16. I am still thinking how should I match this with other clothes. This is to be worn high waist! To be honest, I bought this on impulse! Haha, owells, who don't do such things?

This is a cheap cheap buy from Topshop! It only cost $9! It is basically a inner dress, the material is quite thin. It is perfect to be matched with the lace tunic I've shown above! It comes with a few colours, there was hot pink and milk colour if I'm not wrong. Mine is purplish grey. I can fit into both 14 and 16, but I took 16 instead because it is more comfy! Marina Square's Topshop is still left with some colours and sizes!

Ta-da! Here is my 2nd post!
Reminder: Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins are having sales now! Gogogo grab the clothes! These brands have our sizes but is always not affordable for us. So, we should patronise it during the sales period!

Anyone bought anything fro Topshop/Miss Selfrigde and Dorothy Perkins sale?

Introduction

I'm not too sure who will be reading this but still, HELLO EVERYONE^^

My name is Gabby. At this blog, I would like to use the name, Natsuki.

Here is a short introduction of mine:
I'm 21 years old, Singaporean, studying in NUS; An aspiring freelance graphic designer/photographer, though I am far from it; A Japan Fanatic! (fashion, showbiz, travel, food); I do not speak/write perfect english because I come from a very Chinese background.

I am a uk14-16. I'm a plus sized since primary school. The main reason I'm is because I HATE SPORTS. I hate to move unnecessarily. Haha, and I really enjoy fried food. I wonder why fried food must be the most unhealthy food ever when it is like freaking nice? Aha!

The long story goes... When I was 15, I decided to slim down because of a crush. I quit carbohydrates, and exercise alot more than just PE andTAF. I tasted success: I lost 13 kg and even got out of TAF club. The story did not end happily ever after. My crush told me he liked another girl. I was sad and then I began to eat carbohydrates again. And I gain back whatever I lost by 19 years old. and I was in TAF in JC again.

The thing is, I was quite positive about life even after I gained back my weight. It seems to me like a lesson that AKINS DIET WORKS BUT DON'T HAVE LASTING EFFECTS. But that is not the end of the world. I was lucky and I met my nice bf in university. Thus, I've learnt the reason to lose weight should not because of love, friends or whatever. I think it is more for YOURSELF!

Now, I have start dieting again. Because: I want a more healthy lifestyle, I want to save money by buying free size clothes, I wanna be prettier! So I followed a meal plan from afriend. I hadn't ate fried food for weeks! I am still in the process of losing weight, I will share the meal plan with you guys if I taste success!

Now, back to clothes...
I know many of us are plus-ed because of several reasons. Some are like me who hates to exercise and loves fried food, some have genetic reasons, etc etc... I love fashion and I like to dress up, I am definitely not satisfied with just plain tees and shorts and jeans. And I know many of us do! But it is just so hard for us to find clothes we can wear. Every time I try clothes at shops, I just end up disappointed because I can't fit in. As more experience accumulated, I think I've become more skillful in searching for plus clothes! I wanna share it with youguys! And you can share it with me too! I hope you guys will find the tips useful.

I can't wait for my first post! See you guys then!
